Dean Weber and Achim Triebel Win in Their 2016 Debut
In the 5th Annual New Years Shootout hosted by Valencia Golf Club in Naples Florida, Dean Weber and Achim Triebel endured the rainy conditions and diabolical pin placements best of all. In the Low Gross Division Dean won win a score of 85 winning by two strokes over Achim Triebel and Dan Anderson who both shot 87. Achim had the early lead at by one stroke after the front nine ove Dean, However Dean stormed ahead over the next 6 holes building a 5 stroke lead. Then came the rain and after a lost ball off the tee on the 16th par 5 Dean carded an 8 to Achim's birdie 4 and in one hole the lead was now 1. Dean however was able to put 16 behind him and close the deal to record his first win. In the Low Net Division Achim Triebel took the lead on the first hole and lead until the 15th hole when Weber took the lead, but after the 16th Achim regained and went on to win despite a back nine surge by Dan Anderson who was 5 strokes back after the front nine. Anderson shot a net even par on the back to fall short by one. Order of Merit- The Southwest Florida Tour earned its first exemption for the Free entry into the the National Championship for the 2016 season after Sundays Event. Despite unable to play Jermey Walker leads on the SW Florida Tour order of merit with 904 points. Achim's win earned him 200 points to move into 5th place Player of the Year- Dan Anderson who won $112.00 Keeps his lead on the Player of the Year standings and extends his lead to 213 points. Achim who won $326.00 with 150 point bonus for winning low net jumps into 3rd place.
