Milton Harshman Wins The Links Open at Westminster

Milton Harshman
Tournament Champion
Net 75

The Links Open was the 2nd event for the WGAT South Florida Tour. The weather conditions couldn't be more perfect with a slight breeze and a tempter of 80 degrees.
The emerald fairways and greens were outlined by golden yellow rough and waist areas giving the look and feel of a true links course as if the event was played in the old country of golf.
It was all Milton Harshman, defeating 2011 defending champion Mark Lott. Milton started off strong on the front nine recording a net 35 to give him a one stroke lead over Bob Benser and a seven stroke lead over Mark Lott. Despite an early charge by Lott who birdied 10 and 16, Harshman answered the challenge with a birdie of his own on 16 giving him a comfortable lead to finish with a net 73 and a five stroke victory.
Harshman’s victory awarded him 200 Local Order of Merit points putting him in 2nd place just 15 points behind the leader.

Mark Lott makes history by winning the 2012 Kickoff Classic

Mark Lott
2012 Kickoff Classic at Valencia
Tournament Champion
The headline up to the 18th hole was “it was a day of first’s for Joe Anastasi” because Joe was the first member to join the WGAT and was given the honor to be the first player to tee off at a WGAT event and with a 4 stroke lead after nine holes he was on his way to be the first to win a WGAT event. However Joe doubled bogied 10 and 14 opening the door for Mark Lott who found himself in a tie after 14. The two battled it out for the next four holes with both ending with a net 76. Mark won the playoff making WGAT history to win the first event ever on the World Golfers Amateur Tour.
