84 Year Old Dr. CK Fernando Shows all the Flat Bellies how its done.  Ck Fernando won the SF Winter Championship at River Hall from start to Finish.  CK shot a net event par good enouph for a two stroke victory. There was not a time that Fernando did not have or was tied first place. Starting off with a par on hole one by hole 4 CK was at a net 4 under par making the rest of the field playing catch up. James Stockman challanged CK for the front nine but fell out of contention with a back to back double bogies on 17 and 18 to finish in 2nd place. Order of Merit-This is CK first victory of the year and his win puts him in 2nd place on the Order of Merit just 5 points ahead of priovios leader Terry Shcmidt. Frank Monaco who recorded the lowest  net 9 score on his back nine (Frank started on 10) Helped him climb from 2nd to last place to a tie for 4th place which earned him enough points to take over the lead on the order of merit.   Player of the Year- Monaco's serge on the back nine help him come in first in the Quota and win the low front 9 (Franks Back 9) His earnings has helped him extend his lead over 2nd place Terry Schmidt by 274 points. CK Fernando's victory has jumped him from 12th place to 4th place on the standings. Team Naples-Fort Myers- Bob Benser Senior jumps into the top five for the team standings. If the season were to end today Team Naples-Fort Myers would be: 1- Ck Fernando 2- Terry Schmidt 3- Frank Monaco 4- Rick Lopiccolo 5- Bob Benser Senior 1st, 2nd and 3rd alternates....Adam Reynolds, Don Miller, and a 6 way tie for the 3rd alternate.

Terry Schmidt wins his first tournament of the year on the 18th hole.  On February 8th the WAGT Naples Fort Myers tour held its 3rd event of the 2015 Season at Copperhead Golf and Club. Current Order of Merit and Player of the Year Leader Frank Monaco was bidding for a back to back victory, and doing so would have put him in a commanding lead on both rankings. All was looking good going into the 18th hole when Monaco held a two stroke lead over Schmidt. On 18 Monaco hit his drive in the left rough just 110 yards from the green and though Schmidt contemplated to go for the green from the tee which would had been a 285 yard drive with a 275 yard carry over the water cutting  over the dogleg right, he chose to play it safe and hit a 230 yard 4 iron into the middle of the fairway leaving himself 125 yards from the green. Being away he it his approch shot 30 feet from the pin. Monaco with a two stoke lead hit his approach shot fat and the ball rolled into the water. After dropping Frank now had to hit his 65 yard approach onto the green, but again hit it fat to land in the water again. Frank ended up with the max 10 giving Schmidt a 4 stroke victory.  Monaco at one point held a 5 stroke lead at one point and regained momemntum after he birdied the par 3 14th giving him a 4 stroke lead but the shift of momentum turned when Schmidt drove the 285 yard 16th green from the tee resulting in a birdie to gain two strokes to be one back.  Schmidt 1st place finish puts him in 2nd place just 24 points behind Monaco who finished in 2nd. Monaco maintains in fist place stature for Player of the Year with a 115 point lead over El Duque Hernandez.

Frank Monaco Dominates the Super Bowl Challenge at Golden Gate C.C. Golden Gate Country Club is not the only the Oldest classic designed golf course on tour but over the years it has proven to be the most difficult yeilding the highest average net scores. Frank Monaco blew the field away by winning his first event of the 2015 season by 13 strokes. From start to finish Monaco was in First place and was only challenged on the front none by 83 year old CK Fernando who was coming off a 2nd place finish at the WAGT Match Play Championship.  Franks win has put him into first place on the Naples-Fort Myers Order of Merit along with jumping 4 spots to 1st by 10 points on the Naples-Fort Myers Player of the Year Standings. Also playing were four of the original members on tour who have been supporting the tour for 15 Years. Bob Benser, Terry Schmidt, Frank Monaco and James Stockman.
