| Terry Schmidt Wins Season Opener by 6 strokes. Terry Schmidt starts off the 2015-2016 season just as he ended last year. 1st place on the Order of Merit. In a year long dog fight with Rick Lopiccolo for the top honors Terry finally took the lead at the Season Final double point Tour Championship. Schmidt earned 137 points to finish with 2084 to Lopiccolo's 2009. " I want player of the year this year" Schmidt said after his round at Naples Lakes Country Club. Schmidt who came in 2nd place to Frank Monaco for Player of the Year in 2015 said " I look back to the event I missed when I thought it was on Sunday and not Saturday, If I were there I could had won it" It will be more challenging this year with the expansion of the SW Florida Tour. The Tour which had a territory of Punta Gorda, Fort Myers and Naples will be expanding North to Bradenton. With Achim Treibel the 2015 Tampa Points champion now on the SW Florida tour for 2016 and the return of Angela and Jeremy Walker the 2014 top two point earners, Adam Reynolds the 2013 Player of the Year and Frank Monaco the 2015 Player of the year, and any new superstars who newly join the tour, the 2016 Season looks to be the most exciting yet. Order of Merit- With Terry winning this weekend he opens the season with 200 points to lead Rick Lopiccolo and Achim Triebel Player of the Year- Schmidt takes the early lead with 171 points. 2 Time National Champion Team SW Florida (2012,2013) - 1- Achim Triebel 2- Rick Lopiccolo 3- Frank Monaco 4- Terry Schmidt 5-?
